ABOUT US

The conception of PowerHouse Youth Facility, Inc began January 2004 by founders Glen & Felicia Mayberry.  The two of them recognized a need to establish a safe and structured environment for foster children between the ages of eight and eighteen. While there are a number of homes that provide these children a place to sleep; our organization recognized that only a select few provide a comprehensive focus of moving abused and neglected children towards self-sufficiency individual. PowerHouse Youth Facility currently houses foster children ages  between eleven and eighteen.

PowerHouse Youth Facility provides 24 hour supervised care and will concentrate on personal development, life skills training, discussions groups, self-sufficiency and mental as well as physical well-being. The organizations goal is to create a nurturing home environment where our youth are challenged and encouraged to improve every day they are in our care by our well-trained and dedicated staff.

Power House Youth Facility will focus much of its efforts to help reduce the participation of children in negative peer groups.  The organization is committed to working within the neighborhood and community to collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, law enforcement, and other public agencies to help ensure we provide value-added services and unique experiences that each child will remember long after their time with PowerHouse Youth Facility.

Our overall philosophy is to create a secure and constructive home environment that supports the process of rehabilitation needed by our children. Our founders, Glen & Felicia, believe in leading by example and providing positive daily interaction.  These methods will not only help facilitate in carrying out the corporations’ mission, but will also provide role-model behavior for our clients which will lead to constructive change in their everyday behavior.
